God's Sick Sense of Humor

It seems our lord the savior has a very twisted and sick sense of humor... shame on you God, you should know better than to pick on sweet little boys. At 9:15 AM Sunday 1/24 at St. Albert The Great Church in Minneapolis, the hand of God came down to Earth and gave Oliver a friendly little shove. The result, Oliver stumbled and struck his head (just above his right eye) on the edge of the first marble step leading up to the church. I guess Oliver didn't want to be upstaged by his little sister who was there for her baptism. Upon the ceremonial dip in the pool, we got the hell out of dodge and went straight to Children's Hospital in Minneapolis.

All said and done Oliver walked away with 11 stitches, (2 on the inside & 9 on the outside), 2 toys "borrowed" from Church (take that God), 2 temporary tattoos from the nice staff at the hospital, one partially eaten Popsicle, and bragging rights for the rest of the year whenever he hangs out with his friends.

Finally... Another Update!

It's been a long time since we last posted but it's been a busy six weeks or so. Please see all of the new pictures and movies... please note Mommy went to a movie tonight and Daddy passed on the opportunity to play Xbox or PS3 to make this update. He worked on this for about three hours. Sure is nice of him!

Cute Video of Oliver Reading

Check out this video we took last night of Oliver. He was reading from his Eight Little Monkeys Book... the words to the book, which are also a song, go something like this:

Eight little monkeys jumping on the bed
One fell off and bumped his head
So Momma called the doctor and the doctor said
No more monkeys jumping on the bed!

Seven little monkeys jumping on the bed
One fell off and bumped his head
So Momma called the doctor and the doctor said
No more monkeys jumping on the bed!

Etc...

Make sure and turn up the volume so you can hear him read along with the book. He doesn't quite get the line "So Momma called the doctor and the doctor said" line so he improvises.

Also, once he turns and catches me video taping with our camera, he stops and says "Cheeseburger" (his version of say cheese) and continues to read. It's very cute.

Eight Little Monkeys Video

Blog Update!

Hello All,

Well it’s been a fairly eventful weekend. Saturday night we were in Urgent Care for most of the night because Emily had an infection in her leg that was spreading. The doctor “numbed” the spot (it barely worked as Emily felt most all of it – the doc later said this should have been done under general anesthesia) then took a scalpel and scissors and dug out/drained all the puss. Mmm… delicious! She’s happily popping prescription pain pills now trying to dull the pain.

So we were all up late last night and had to get up early so we could meet Thomas the Tank. He stopped in Minnesota just to see his biggest fan. Pictures of the festivities are provided… sorry, no puss pictures.

There are also some pictures of Bruce’s 4^th Birthday feast (make sure to turn up the volume), a ton of Charlotte pictures, and a bunch of videos. Here you go:
